That’s 7 degrees Fahrenheit btw.

valerie

Yay! I’m personally a fan of not sweating!
But also, wow, sunrise at 9:12?! What’s the latest time that that will get to?

Martin Hähnel

@val Can’t say exactly but in January you can have as little as 5 hours of daylight.

Timo Koola

@val I was a bit more North (in Kittilä) last year in early December and sunrise at 11am and sunset a bit after 1pm 😎

Martin Hähnel

@tkoola Yeah. Finnland’s north is hardcore. 🤘

Markus Heurung

brrrrr.
It’s quite clear why Finnish saunas are the best saunas.

Martin Hähnel

@muhh Amen. They make the cold days bearable and almost something to look forward to.

valerie

@tkoola Wow, does it mess with your body clock or daily routine at all?

Timo Koola

@val yes, both in the Summer when we get abundance of sunlight (harder to sleep, but can be countered with good curtains) and in Winter when if affects especially mood. It is called Seasonal affective disorder - Wikipedia if the symptoms are bad. Personally I sleep more, add vitamin D and use bright light in the mornings

Martin Hähnel

@tkoola @val It depends. I feel lucky because I happen to get only tired but not necessarily depressed when it’s dark and the days are short (I kinda like it actually). It slows life down somewhat. That’s useful.
